hey hey!! hahaa. sorry haven been updating much yet!! i know i still have not updated abt berlin, which was the SECOND place we went to. hahaha oops. super outdated i know.

going to amsterdam later in the afternoon. will try to update when im more free when im back. hahaha. have been rushing assignments, gg for lessons and gg travelling etc. hahaa. quite a hectic lifestyle in a sense. oops, pple in singapore pls dun feel envious. seriously i think tt exchange has made me appreciate home a lot more. sure, there is less stress over work here coz its on S/U basis anyway. but still, it just feels a lot more different being here than in singapore. hah oh wells. the grass is always greener on the other side huh.

anw, will update/upload photos from berlin, copenhagen, brussels, brugges n amsterdam when im back!! =)

haha i know i know, my blog posts are really super updated. been quite lazy to blog these days coz i've been on duty as kitchen guard in my corridor. always have to dread throwing the rubbish in the kitchen. haha. so glad that the week's ending soon and i can finally get back to my normal lifestyle of slacking in my room and/or doing work!

hahas. anyway, school has started for us and we have been having lectures for the past 2 weeks. quite a slack timetable though. our timetables are not fixed like in nus and so the times and venues of our lessons are always differing from week to week. but the good thing is that we have a maximum 3 day week! hahaha. really quite good right. lol. get to do other stuff during the rest of the weeks. and of course this includes going shopping and travelling. hehe. but of course shdn't spend too much money too, coz its already expensive coming on exchange to a country with such high living standards. heh. i will control my spending!

yup yup, just a short update on what my life has been like so far. hahas. the weather's turning cold these days. its the end of summer and temperatures now range below 20 deg celsius so it does get quite cold here. it is expected that temperatures will drop to around 10 degrees soon and we cant really just wear t-shirts with jeans anymore. haha. jackets have always been a necessity since we're too used to singapore's warm and humid weather but i think we have to prepare 2 jackets instead of one now. ahha. layering's very important!

hmm anws, went to the weekend market this morning with darren and yinghwee.

there was nothing much to see there actually, just a lot of people..

...with stalls selling a lot of second hand goods. haha

but before we went to the weekend market, i dropped by my most frequented shop in Lund central: GH Data. ahha.

coz i finally received a msg saying that the laptop that i had ordered had arrived! =D in fact, i'm typing this post using my new laptop while trying to install windows live messenger on this laptop. no idea why its taking so long =S


after walking halfway (probably even less than halfway) through the weekend market, we decided that all the things were typically the same and since we werent interested in buying second hand goods, we decided to move on to our next destination:

Nova Lund!

as u can see, it is a big place with basically all the brands that can be found in Lund Central, all congregated in one shopping centre.

yinghwee and i spent almost 2 hours in H&M trying out clothes and stuff. bought some tops for my sisters and myself. heh. i promise i wun buy anymore tops already, so daddy and mummy, pls don't worry. ahaha =p


ohh and before i end this post, here's what my new laptop looks like! =)


acer Aspireone series. hahaa. yes, i bought an acer laptop AGAIN =p
hmm dunno if u all can see it but look closely at the keyboard and u can see 3 more letters, å, ä and ö. since i bought my laptop in sweden, it has a swedish keyboard. haha. the guy at GH data was nice enough to help me check if there're english keyboards but too bad they dont sell them in Sweden. oh wells. guess this will be the most expensive souvenir i have from my exchange in Sweden. hahaa

look at how small it is! its even smaller than my acer travelmate laptop!! hahaa =)

heh. been too lazy to continue blogging with so much words. shall just let the photos do most of the talking! =)

the burger stand that we frequented in prague coz the food was considerably cheaper. and the hotdogs were nice! =)

this is the museum that showcases a lot of minerals and stuff. we werent interested in the stuff it had and it sounded boring so we didnt go explore

after the scare on the first night, we decided to treat ourselves to a good McDonald's meal! the set looks quite big here but it was actually quite small. haha. but they're a lot more environmentally friendly. the tray for the ham and eggs is made from paper, not like the styrofoam ones in Singapore

after hearing a lot of stories about how prague has a lot of pickpockets, we all had to force ourselves to get used to wearing money belts. but mine was so thick that i look like i have a tummy. HAHAHA

we had to pay 5 czech kroners to use the toilet in macs! and we thought that their public toilets wld be free for the public to use. haha oh well

here's the receipt. they were quite nice i guess coz if we retained the receipt from using the toilet, we could get a discount of 5kc from the cost of the next meal we bought from macs. haha


we then went around exploring prague on our own:

we decided to try out traditional czech meals for lunch. darren had asked the driver on our way to Hostel 123 about the traditional czech food and the driver mentioned bread and potato dumplings. we had expected to see dumplings like 'ba zhang' or something but here's what we got:

one part of St. Vitus Cathedral. thousands and thousands of people were waiting to get in to see what's in the cathedral and so we had to queue for quite some time before entering

and while waiting, i noticed this. haha. have i mentioned that Prague has a lot and i really mean A LOT of gothic buildings?! seems like the whole of Prague is quite gothic. haha. in fact, St. Vitus Cathedral is a gothic church! and of course with a gothic background, they have a lot of gargoyles on the buildings as well

okay this is really random but we were resting on one of the stone seats after walking around the Prague Castle. and we were super amazed at how some people can actually walk up and down the cobbled slopes in HEELS! omg.

does this glass look huge? hahaa. this is actually 0.2l of coca cola! we were all craving for it in prague and it costs us quite an amount for just 200ml of coca cola! we really relished every single drop of it. haha.

we were having lunch at this Chinese restaurant in Prague called The Neptune. nothing like the one that we used to have in Singapore but the feeling of finding chinese food in European countries was really heavenly. hearing others speaking chinese here really makes us feel all warm and cozy inside. haha

prague's roads are mainly like this. all cobbled and really not comfy to walk on. haha. but anyway, we walked up this slope...

...and took the Ujezd (or tram/train) that brought us up a long slope..

...where we saw a lot of really nice flowers! it was a whole garden!!

look! mint leaves and their flowers =) i've learnt how to recognise them from pasir panjang wholesale market. whahaha. n they really smelt minty! (:

the really REALLY long escalator we've been taking when we take trains to various parts of Prague. can u imagine what wld have happened if someone drops something or falls?! =S oh and as u can see, people in Europe typically stand on the right hand side of the escalators =)
