hey heys! yay finally found time to continue blogging =)
so after 13 to 14 hours on the plane, which was mostly spent sleeping and eating, we finally touched down on Copenhagen Airport! (: bought the train tickets to Malmo, where we would be staying in Sam's aunt's house for the night.

Aunty Grace is really nice!!! her Singaporean friend Aunty Violet was super nice too! we had breakfast, typical Swedish style when we first reached aunty grace's house. had hotdogs with swedish fillings. haha nice =)
and then aunty grace brought us around malmo central to look around. really a pity that i didnt bring my camera along! the place was super nice and the weather was so good! haha darn. shall get some of the photos from darren soon (:
went back to aunty grace's hse and she prepared beef hor fun for us. aunty violet had prepared the soup that was so good! really tasted like home. haha =)

we slept quite early that day after calling home and stuff. woke up the next morning, had breakfast and off we went to prepare to fly off to prague!!

hahas see the train in the background in the photo above? after we had settled down in the train that we first boarded, we were happily taking photos, documenting everything we did. but after some time, we were wondering why it was taking so long to move off. although we were quite used to waiting a bit, it was still quite unusual and then suddenly we heard the train operator saying that we all had to leave this train because it is faulty. we were supposed to take the train across the platform instead! so we took all our stuff and hurried across the platform and boarded the other train, hoping that there were enough seats, thankful that we had planned to leave aunty grace's house early enough just in case.
and so we finally moved off after the initial hussle. reached copenhagen airport really early and we found this self-check-in counter at the entrance of the airport. and once we've had our boarding passes, we were free to roam around the airport until the time we had to board the plane. we took our own sweet time, strolling around, looking at all the things they sold there.
like those cigarette boxes in Singapore, Danish cigarettes have notes to try to stop people from smoking so much. haaha. but somehow its less gory and looks more interesting than those in Singapore

this was our favourite!! look at all the Toblerone chocolates displayed there!! really looks like some golden treasure trove. ahah

and since we had so much time on our hands, we took photos with the statue of "The Little Mermaid", the character that made Copenhagen famous
we were just killing time in the duty free shops, taking silly photos until we saw that the gate number, D4, for our flight was finally up. and we decided to go to the gate early. but we waited and waited and waited and it was so weird coz it was almost 5 mins to the flight and our gate was STILL not opened!
while we were all wondering what was going on, the other people waiting along with us were also starting to ask each other if we were taking the same flight. we were, and we knew that the gate number was D4 but somehow it was not opening yet! and then suddenly we saw a guy running over to our gate. we thought that it was probably some airport guy finally coming to open the gate. but he wasnt! he was one of the passengers too and he was saying that the gate we were supposed to go to was A22 instead! oh my goodness. we ran like mad all the way from one end of the airport to the other! really felt like we were on the amazing race or something. hahaha.
by the time we reached the plane, we were all feeling hot and sweaty from running and really quite tired. heh.
since the plane we were on, Sterling.com, was a budget flight, we had to buy our own bottles of water. my loyal bottle lasted me throughout the whole trip from prague to berlin. hahaa

had dinner with my grandma, my family and my aunt's family at this seafood restaurant in ang mo kio after my dear cousin jiafen came back from the US! hahaa =)

met up with my dear vday hot dates kai, mich and kim! took lotsa photos that day but they were all taken with mich and kai's cameras and i dun have the photos yet. haha oh wells! anyway kai and i went with mich to tanah merah, then we went back to bugis to go shop for awhile before i met the biz girls and cowen to shop for kelvin's bday present and have dinner

and then came the night of 8th august, when we were to fly off to Copenhagen to begin our exchange!
mingyi bought a book for me while waiting for us at the airport. turns out that that book was so useful and precious when i had nothing to do before sleeping over the past few days. haha. i'm almost done with that book already! really inspirational actually. can go check it out, its titled "The Last Lecture" by Randy Pausch.
anyway i think i look quite weird in the following photos coz i was wearing specs that night. haha. in fact, i havent worn my contacts ever since i left Singapore. think its quite a hassle for now. will start wearing them when school officially starts =)

yayy im finally back to using my own laptop! hahaha.
imagine waiting for 1 week to use the computer occasionally coz u're travelling, then after checking into your hostel room, u realise that ur laptop cannot be switched on! and then after sending ur laptop to a computer shop the next day, u're told that it is either a problem with the motherboard or some other part in the laptop and that it will take 2 to 3 days for the technicians to check out the problem. but the thing is, u sent ur laptop to the shop on a wednesday and the 3rd day is a saturday, when the shop is open till only 3pm. this means that u have to wait till monday before u can even get any news about ur laptop. so u wait patiently over the weekend, praying hard that everything will be okay. on monday, u go back to the computer shop and they tell u its the problem with the memory card in ur laptop. so u happily replace the memory card and are exhilarated that ur laptop is finally fixed and u can finally talk to ur family and friends without having to bother ur friends here by borrowing their laptops to do some basic communication with the pple back home. and then after 15 mins of using ur laptop, suddenly u see a lot of windows popping up saying that all the programs u have on have to be shut down. and before u know it, a blue-screen error appears again and 'poof!' ur laptop goes back to the state it was when u first tried to switch it on when u first checked into ur new hostel the week before.
haha. seriously, i know my acer laptop isnt really reliable given its glorious record of making me go to the Acer service centre so many times that i managed to explore the area on my own and figure out the shortest way to get there and back from hall. given my "fantastic" sense of direction, that IS a great feat! but i really didnt expect my laptop to break down just when i got to Sweden. how unlucky can someone get man... hais.
wells but anws thanks to teresa and sam, i managed to find proper help and get everything fixed. hahas. esp teresa, coz she has been accompanying me to Lund central and back everytime i had to go there coz of my laptop (which has been ard 5 times alr so far? haha) really really grateful to have her ard when i think i almost broke down myself coz of that troublesome laptop =S hehe thanks girl!! =)
anws i promised to blog about prague and berlin. i havent forgotten about it yet. hahaha. will do so soon yups! (:

Remz! lol wad's up with val?? she's a maid meh?? haha. anws i called the International Housing Office and they got a cleaning company to help me clean some parts of my room! wahahha. cool hor! lol. but then by the time they came i alr cleaned up my room alr so they just did a bit of touching up and helped me clear all the pillows and blankets that the previous tenant left behind in the room. lol. but its ok la, coz its free. heh. anws, i doubt that the taiwanese guy is interested in me. heh. i think he's err interested in making frens with a lot of girls. LoL. okay tt's just my guess. heh. tell u more next time la. hahhas. have fun at lessons in biz without me! HAHAHA =D
JW! hey dear! haha yup yup i've cleaned my room up and it does feel better! just tt i haven really unpacked much yet coz of all the other stuff i have to settle. heh. anws, read the previous reply to remy to see how i settled the cleanliness part wahhaha. oh but i still dun dare to touch the part of the bed frame where i found the condom. heh. i think i need to go to the supermarket nearby and buy dettol and clean that area again till i dare to touch it! hahha. takes time i guess. heh =)

omg im so sad la, my room in lund sucks! bleahs. ahhaha okay maybe its not THAT bad, just that when i first entered the room i got a shock. heh. basically once u step into my room, u'll see this small area sth like a hotel room. to the left is the wardrobe and to the right is the toilet. then u'll enter another room which is the room with the bed and furniture n everything. so yup, when i opened my room door, the smell was horrendous. haha. cant rmb wad it was like but it was really damn disgusting.
oh anw, luckily while queuing up to check in n stuff, we got to know a few pple frm taiwan and one of the guys happened to stay in my block.
haha anws, im like staying over in darren n yinghwee's room tonight coz my room's still quite scary.
heh. okays, so after i called my mum after tt guy left n told her i just checked in, i started cleaning up with the rags tt my mum packed before i came over. brought. the floor was super duper dusty under the bed and the table was damn dirty also. once i cleaned up the table i just put almost everything on it. heh. then right, when i started cleaning the bed frame, i shifted the mattress and omg to my horror, i saw a white tube thing that looked a lot like a condom. and i seriously think it is one lor, just that the tip was like broken or sth. omg. i almost fainted la. super disgusting can! i suddenly remembered someone (either junhao or samson) mentioning abt someone lifting his mattress in hall n finding a lot of used condoms under the mattress. i think i can understand how tt person feels. ohmygoodness. yucks yucks yucks yucks yucks!! i immediately took a long piece of toilet paper and folded it into a few layers before picking it up n throwing it into this small plastic bag tt i decided to use as a dustbin. omg. yuckssss!!
okay and then when i was cleaning 2 other chairs that were in the room, i realised tt its full of hair!!! i mean, like i think the previous person was a long-haired blonde or sth coz i had a lot of long blond hair stuck onto my rag once i wipe the chair. seriously, i was so disgusted with the previous tenant la! and i still am disgusted man. hahaa. oh and i haven mentioned, the bed had like 1 or 2 blankets and a few pillows on it, left over by the previous tenant. i dun even wanna start thinking what on earth they were doing in that room man! =S and i might be thinking too much but there were like 2 pills in the medicine cabinet behind the mirror in the toilet. i dunno wad it is n i dun wanna noe what it is used for man.
haha gosh, i hope i din scare u all heh. but i was really feeling more n more miserable the more i cleaned my room up =( and my laptop somehow cldnt work. oh man really sucks la!!! dunno wad's wrong with it. damn sian.
