for once, ever since i came back from malaysia, we could have training! WOW! isnt it amazing!?! hahas. tennis training had always been cancelled due to heavy DOWNPOURS for like at least 3 or 4 training days. scary huh. luckily abhi was smart enough this time to change training time from evening to morning. hahas. trained with the girls. n ihg filming was finally done! yeah man. more work for smg and smb video team (congratulate me please, coz im in smb video. bleahs)
anyways, its time for bidding of modules again. super sian.. esp since the internet has been kinda screwed up due to the earthquake in taiwan. goodness. haven been following the news but hope the condition there is still alright.
oh yeah, le hia n i finished doing our puzzle! yays! =)

SO CUTE RIGHT!!! hahahhaa :D
Happy Boxing Day everyone! =) hahas. and HAPPY BIRTHDAY to MINGSHAN, GAIUS and BENJAMIN!
its a really rainy day today. been raining ever since i woke up to a really satisfying breakfast that my mum prepared (:
i think i've been too free these days that i can blog so much! hahas. but anyway...
22nd december was the day of the longest SWOC meeting ever and if i must say so myself, it was the most hilarious one that we have had so far. coming up with the theme for orientation is never easy and gosh, was it fun to brainstorm together! hahas. there were really interesting ideas and words that had "SH" in it coz well, we're Sheares Hall. after wiSHing, swiSHing, kruSHing, bruSHing(haha!) and daSHing, we decided!! (okay, anti-climax here) we decided to come up with more ideas and talk thru it again during the next meeting.
heh. oh and this meeting was one that was filled with not only love, but food! lots n lots of food! zaihao specially prepared tangyuan for all of us, hao jie bought all of us super nice cupcakes that were soooooo pretty none of us could bear to eat them! yuanbin n shix gave everyone chocolates with these super nice cards that they drew by themselves too. 0kay and i provided some snacks that i bought in malaysia. hahas.
the christmas gift exchange was super funny too. hahas. but i really like the gift that i got. ahahs. thanks yuanbin! =)
xmas eve's evening was spent in my godsis' house. this is the first time ever that someone from our generation's hosting an xmas party! okay that's coz she's the first one to get married. hahas. but still~ anw the food was good! wow, my cousins can really cook. and they're guys too. not bad (:
xmas day itself was spent at home. hahas. awww before anyone feels sorry for me, i must say that somehow, this was the best xmas i've had. maybe its coz i've been mia at home for so long or maybe there's no concrete reason at all.. but i just felt really warm n fuzzy inside when my family, just the 5 of us, had dinner together. sure, dinner was more elaborate than usual but hey, i think it was really quality time spent =)
helloos! hahaa im finally back in singapore! back at home! =)
missed my handphone and the internet a lot a lot during my trip to malaysia! but it was still quite alright la. hahas. got to shop a lot! retail therapy rocks man!!! actually is it even therapy? i felt a bit of heartache for my daddy haha but oh wells, i promise i wun spend this much anymore!
anyway, what a welcome to come home to. once my family n i stepped into the house n switched on the lights, ohmygoodness there were 2 cockroaches lying on the floor behind the sofa! and there were more in the kitchen. even the yard had 3 of them. all kinds of sizes of cockroaches. ahhh YUCKS! its super disgusting n scary! must have been the really wet weather the past few days. oh man! just thinking of the sight makes me shudder. yucksyucksyucksyucksyucks.
but anyhows, the trip was a really great one! though genting was, hmmm to say the least, rather disappointing. the theme parks din appeal to us, the casinos were only attractive to my mum (sigh!) and the food there was disappointing (we went to kenny rogers at first world hotel. the serving size was pathetic! n it din taste v good either.) n worst of all, there are smokers everywhere maybe coz of the cold weather. i have no idea why but some pple think that smoking keeps u warm. hmmm doesnt really make sense to me but i wun try it out either so i guess i'll never know! but well, i guess it wld have been fun for little kids! hahas =)
kl was great! whahas. we stayed at The Royale Bintang hotel. the name doesnt really sound impressive but hey, its a nice hotel to stay in! rather new and elegant. its like, halfway in between posh and affordable. something like that. hahaha not sure how to describe it either, but its great (: the best thing is that its located v near shopping malls! hahas. Lot 10, bb Plaza, Low Yat Plaza, Sungei Wang Plaza, Berjaya Times Square, even their chinatown are all within walking distance from the hotel! so basically we had enough time to go to these places a few times. heh. oh and the Outback steakhouse near low yat plaza was good! i've been craving for their Chocolate Thunder From Down Under ever since i ate it during lunch with my colleagues once and my goodness the same heavenly taste is there! good job guys! u all managed to keep the standard there even between 2 countries! wow! im amazed! hahahas. okay not like anyone from the company will come to my blog n read but still! great job!
our trip to and from malaysia was by grasslands express, or cao yuan kuai che. its v comfortable! slept peacefully thru the trip all the way to genting, other than getting down for customs n stuff. the trip back was kinda scary though, coz it was rather late at night after waiting super long for the other pple to get on. and also coz of heavy traffic due to the peak hours. and when we were on the highway, our driver shouted to his colleague in an adjacent bus (in malay, but i can understand a bit of malay hahas.) that he wanted to sleep! omg! my immediate thought was "uh oh!" hehs. but luckily, other than sounding the horn a few times and the driver jamming brakes once or twice, the trip back was quite alright too. they were playing some movie abt snakes infesting an airplane on the tv in front but i din really bother watching. sleep's more important hahas.
oh oh halfway thru the highway, when we were almost going towards jb, we actually could see the floodwaters! the trees at the sides of the roads were almost partially submerged in water! v scary but cool! but as a result, the roads were reduced from two-way to one-way. and this caused a jam on the highway as well. wad an experience huh.
In kindergarten your idea of a good friend was the person who let you have
the red crayon when all that was left was the ugly black one.
In primary one your idea of a good friend was the person who went to the
bathroom with you and held your hand as you walked through the scary halls.
In primary two your idea of a good friend was the person who helped you
stand up to the class bully.
In primary three your idea of a good friend was the person who shared spent
recess with you playing soccer with makeshift balls/ playing five stones and
zero-point.
In primary four your idea of a good friend was the person who was willing to
keep the smelly guys at bay during PE/ sneak off with you to catch tadpoles
in the monsoon drain.
In primary five your idea of a friend was the person who saved a seat on the
back of the school bus for you.
In primary six your idea of a friend was the person who shared the pain of
taking PSLEs with you...and the joy of finishing it all.
In secondary one your idea of a friend was the person who let you copy the
(insert subject) homework that you had due the very next lesson.
In secondary two your idea of a good friend was the person who helped you
pack up all your stuffed animals and old comics so that your room would be a
presentable "teenager's" room, but didn't laugh at you when you finished and
broke out into tears.
In secondary three your idea of a good friend was the person who supported
you in your bid to become the team captain...and helped you out when the
going got tough and you wanted to throw in the towel.
In secondary four your idea of a good friend was the person who changed
their study schedule so that they could study with you for the O
levels...and listen to you bitch about the subjects you have to take AND
symphathize with your predictament.
In JC1 your idea of a good friend was the person whom you 1st met in your
OG/ class, and who stuck around with you as the academic year wore on and
everyone drifted apart to their own interests.
In JC2 your idea of a good friend was the person who helped you pick out a
college/university, assured you that you would get into that
college/university, helped you deal with your parents who were having a hard
time adjusting to the idea of letting you go...while being reluctant to see
you go as well; the person who had dinner with you every single day of the
week because you stayed back in the library to mug till late into the night,
who went to prom night with you so that you wouldn't feel out of place
without a date...
At graduation your idea of a good friend was the person who was crying on
the inside but managed the biggest smile one could give as they
congratulated you for your excellent results.
In the army (for guys), your idea of a good friend was someone who suffered
just as much beside you, who got pumped for your mistakes, who charged up
hill after hill, marched mile after mile, dug trench after trench with you
in the sun and the rain, and never once complained about you...it was always
the system's/weather's/officers' fault :) They were the ones who served
detention with you, who helped ease the boredom of detention with you, who
tried to help you avoid detention as best as they could...
At work ( for girls), your idea of a a good friend was one who spent the
time together with you in the office/restaurant/ wadeva working place you
were in, and helped you get through the maximum of workload with a minimum
of fuss. They were the ones who ticked off the bossy customer, who helped
you clean up the tables so that you wouldn't be the last one left to close
up, and who took it upon themselves to help you finish up the in boc on your
desk so that all of you could go out for lunch/dinner together.
The year you left for university your idea of a good friend was the person
who helped you clean up the bottles from that party, listened to you when
you ranted on about how you just couldn't deal with your parents, assured
you that now that you and (insert name of bf or gf) were back together, you
could make it through anything, helped you pack up for university and just
silently hugged you at the airport as you looked through blurry eyes at 18
years of memories you were leaving behind, and finally on those last days of
childhood, went out of their way to give you reassurance that you would make
it in college as well as you had these past 18 years, and most importantly
sent you off to college knowing you were loved.
Now, your idea of a good friend is still the person who gives you the better
of the two choices, holds your hand when you're scared, helps you fight off
those who try to take advantage of you, thinks of you at times when you are
not there, reminds you of what you have forgotten, helps you put the past
behind you but understands when you need to hold on to it a little longer,
stays with you so that you have confidence, goes out of their way to make
time for you, helps you clear up your mistakes, helps you deal with pressure
from others, smiles for you when they are sad and helps you become a better
person.
A friend now is someone you love. Not that you are "in love" with them, but
you care about them and you think about them when they are not there. The
people you are reminded of when you see something they might like, and you
know this because you know them so well. They are the people whose pictures
you have and whose faces are in your head regardless. They are the people
you feel safe around because you know they care about you. They call just to
see how you are doing, because a friend doesn't need an excuse. They tell
you the truth, the first time, and you do the same. You know that if you
have a problem, they are there to listen. They are the people who won't
laugh at you or hurt you, and if they do hurt you they try hard to make it
up to you.
They are the people you love, regardless of whether you realize it. They are
the people you cried with during the last song at the prom and at
graduation. They are the people that when you hug them, you don't think
about how long to hug and who's going to be the first one to let go. Maybe
they are the people that hold the rings at your wedding, or maybe they are
the people who give you away at your wedding, or maybe they are the people
you marry. Maybe they are the people who cry at your wedding because they
are happy or because they are proud. They are the people who stop you from
making mistakes and help you when you do. They are are the people whose hand
you can hold, or you can hug or give them a kiss and not have it be awkward
because they understand the things you do and they love you for them. They
stick with you and stand by you. They hold your hand. They watch you live
and you watch them live and you learn from them. Your life is not the same
without them.
So pass this on to those friends of the past, and those of the future...and
those you have met along the way...Just to say a little thank you for being
a friend. No matter where we go or who we become, never forget who helped us
get there.
There's never a wrong time to pick up a phone or send a message telling your
friends how much you miss them or how much you love them.
If you love someone, tell them. Remember always to say what you mean. Never
be afraid to express yourself. Take this opportunity to tell someone what
they mean to you. Seize the day and have no regrets.
Most importantly, stay close to your friends and family, for they have
helped make you the person that you are today and are what it's all about
anyway. Pass this along to your friends. Let it make a difference in your
day and theirs.
*The difference between expressing love and having regrets is that the
regrets may stay around forever.*
just saw this email that crystal forwarded. felt its really meaningful =) seriously, life without friends is really kinda sad. its really hard to imagine how to survive without communicating with anyone else except ur family. or even worse, no one at all. its so stifling!
felt really nostalgic somehow after reading that mail. made me think of all the friends i've made over the years and made me appreciate everyone even more. esp pple like ruijun, huangfang, yixi, mintze, kahyen, mich yeoh, kairu, jiewei, ruixia, waysi, charmaine etc etc. hahas. all my darling girlfriends (: and of course the guys too.. so far those guys whom i know r still quite gentlemanly. i think. hahahaha.

btw, my way of reading the newspapers - start off with Life! section, then skim thru home and the main sections even faster than when im reading life.. no wonder im so not up-to-date with most current affairs :p oh wells! some parts r really too boring.
life after the exams is good! hehe. cant wait to meet the girls tomorrow for our sizzler outing. hais everytime we meet up we will eat! a lot! oh noooooo.... i need to jian fei le! =(

alrights, dinner soon! byee!
heyas! im back!! hahas. just got back to hall from a movie with some of the swocs - yuan bin, gilyn, weising, edward n shixiu. watched deja vu..
anyways, saturday was ex-swoc treat! yays it was a success! somehow, the food was good and the programmes were right on schedule and very entertaining lols. and the gifts! the effort we put in in sewing the socks and writing were worth it coz i heard tt someone heard rave reviews abt them! hehe thankyouthankyou!! :D:D:D thanks to all my dear swocs who helped out! hehe. n yay! our cheers and hall anthem rocked! yeah man! all the practise was all worth it too! =D
at 12 midnight sharp we celebrated gilyn's birthday, hall-style. ie, ponding. hahas. made a lot a lot of noise coz of course no one wanted to get wet and disgustingly sweet with coke n 7-up but oh wells, in the end we were one big soapy n wet family. lols
had swoc full comm meeting today too. quite happy coz 4 out of 5 of my subcomm members came!! woohoooo~! hahas. esp my cousin omg i love her she came all the way after driving lesson can!! so wei da!! hehe. went to queensway n then ikea after lunch with jiafen n lehia. wah shopped a lot! i had like a huge shopping spree can. hahas. bought the most things but! they were wad i have been waiting to buy so its not an impulsive spree :D

ohmygosh my template's super disgusting now. haha. its in the "under-construction" stage when i'm still trying to figure out html and preparing more stuff to put up here. in the meantime, just make do with this yeah. hahas =)
woohoooo~! its been err months since i've last blogged and guess what! EXAMS ARE OVER!! wahahs. v happy! its like one of the most torturous exam periods so far.. coz everyone seems to be mugging hard and its so difficult to ignore it coz its everywhere. plus sheares is one of the exam venues for some papers too, so can u imagine, every day pple come in with the exam mood n stuff. super scary.
hahas yay but in any case, im just relieved that exams are over for now =) can relax a bit first before all comm work start again. sighs. gonna be v busy again! next up, preparation for ex-swoc treat and then ihg(inter-hall games). and stardust. and erc. omg.. aiyah shall not think abt those now. hehe. going out with char, yen n waysi on monday to shop!! in peace! wahas. so exciting :D
after our ssa papers today at 4.30, yen, waysi n i went to marina's changing appetites for dinner. ate parmesan fish n chips. satisfied my cravings for fish and chips and of course, cheese! super nice! v oily but nvm, shall work out and burn those away soon! (: walked ard, and then we ate the hokkaido ice cream frm azabu. the guy mistook my order for "tiramisu" as "rum n raisin" n gave me rum n raisin with banana choc instead. but its alright, i grew to like rum n raisin too. hahas. not bad! banana choc rocks. oh and cookies and cream. reminds me of g3 and sabrina, my 2 ex-colleagues at ubs months ago. kinda miss them. hahas
oh wells! gotta do sth to my template but been too lazy to do so.. shall try my hands at html, which i have returned to my mits seniors and teachers years ago. till the next time i blog =)
