BiTs 'N PiEces oF mY LifE...

hAAHahHahahAHaahhAAHhAAHahahah

today was very funny, to say the least. met up with my pre-u sem pple after one n a half years! woohoo~! lols. spent a lot of time AND energy juz listening to chirag talking n joking ard! anw met some of them at 12 plus. supposed to meet at 12 actually but then my sis took forever to finish eating her lunch so i took quite some time to get to orchard mrt since my dad sent me there. oops so sorry! wan gek was the first to reach i think. hahas n when she called me i was still on my way! sorry girl! but then when i reached, see hwei, lynette, kathleen, mingyong n jin xing were there too so yup! yays at least i wasnt the latest! hehs. hmmx yaupng n chirag arrived after tt. waited for jurja then we went to look for some place to eat first before benjamin came coz he said he wld reach like 2 or 3 hrs later! after taking super long to decide, we went to pizza hut at lucky plaza coz they had vegetarian food tt's cheaper.

chirag was super high today! he kept talkin n talking n talking! non-stop! hahahahha but it was really amusing! especially sitting opposite him hahas. its like free entertainment man. gosh i think lynette was the most amused! she cldnt seem to stop laughing at all. poor girl, gotta cough and laugh! haha take care alright busy girl, hope u recover asap! =) hahas anw the funniest n most ironic thing is tt chirag's vegetarian n jurja's like a carnivore, n they were sitting next to each other! juz trying to be sensitive to one's diet will juz lead to more laughs n jokes. think some of us were aching coz of all the laughing! lols.

after us sitting ard in pizza hut for 2+ hours, benjamin finally arrived! sang him a bday song, waited for him to finish his cake n then chirag came up with some funny concoction of sugar syrup, some blueberry cheesecake, tabasco sauce n some other stuff i cant rmb. all in all, it was disgusting. but he n benjamin juz drank it anw. GROSS. yucks haah but its quite funny too. too bad din take photos coz i was too disgusted! hahas anw we went to take some photos at this clock thing somewhere, then wangek, jurja n chirag left. the rest of us went to play pool back at lucky plaza. without chirag, mingyong suddenly seemed to become a lot more crappy. lols.

been great juz being able to hang out again after so long! hahaha we shd do this more often. arrgh does tt mean i shall have to try to organise again? oops. i will try ahah but we've set a date alr i think. yays. yups okie! quite tired alr. ahaha shall go sleep now! nitez!

jw-, wenlin! hahas yay i continued alr! but the second part wasnt as funny as the first part hor. lol. ohh jw, i tried writing an essay abt totally banning smoking for gp before lah. ahahha tt sucked. maybe next time! haha i wanna enjoy my hols! yays! hehe =)

haha im blogging again! gosh im so bored. but dun feel like doing anything else. cant really talk properly coz i'll juz start coughing once i breathe. dun really feel like going out either. damn. sucks being sick. hahas oh well i think its all thanks to the heavy smokers in china! n those i met in singapore. thanks a lot man. been inhaling a lot of cigarette smoke the past few days. be it indoors or outdoors, in cool weather or hot weather, in smoking or non-smoking places, close proximity or not... yeah i think u get the idea right. i juz dun understand wad's the use of smoking. no offense to anyone, this is juz my opinion yeah. i mean, there's nothing helpful abt smoking. u spoil ur lungs n the lungs of those ard u. n its not like u'll be healthier after a puff. u become dependent on this piece of paper wrapped ard tobacco powder, packed in packets n sold to u with gradually escalating prices. burns a huge hole in anyone's pocket u noe.

think my lungs r being coated with at least a layer of soot alr. gosh can feel all the irritants making me cough! yucks. i think i can hold my breath longer now than before. lols.

oh yes i forgot to update abt the mm gathering which was long ago! hahas anw it was great meeting up with everyone again though not all the red badges were present. oh wells, lets meet up again soon k! =)

yups, k shall now continue abt my china trip! hahas. after visiting so many tourist attractions, it was finally time to have the free-and-easy part of the trip. the tour grp fetched us to the hotel my grandfather owned. so cool right! my grandfather actually owned a hotel n another shop elsewhere! haha k tt was beside the point. anw the hotel was a v small-sized one. the upstairs looked kinda sleazy but its safe lah. hahas. on the way there, we were juz wondering aloud wad it was gonna be like. my cousin was juz wondering how many stars the hotel it was worth. haha n my uncle's super funny! instead of trying to reassure us tt the standard's ok, he juz said it was less than 3 star! my gosh thanks man! hahas we were really kinda shocked lah. but then again, it was v dark even though it was only 7 or 8 plus. the v long trip to wen chang had taken up most of our energy, esp with the youngest cousin singing n talking nothing that makes sense to us. when we saw the hotel FINALLY, we were juz relieved lah. met my dad's uncle who's in charge of overseeing operations in the hotel. din have to check in so we went straight to the rooms they had alr prepared for us. it was quite cool coz think they gave us quite a lot of benefits. n the staff tt was not related to us were also v nice n friendly. heh it rocks to be treated like a vip, even though the place isnt as high-end =) anw my grandmother had a lot of visitors once we had settled down in our rooms. had to be introduced to countless numbers of relatives before we got to sleep. quite interesting to see all the different pple my grandma recognises! got a lot of stories to listen to abt my grandma's life n how all the pple we meet r related.

went to my grandfather's house the next day. most of our family wore red! haha guess y. coz my aunt visited wen chang before with my grandmother a few yrs back n she was telling us tt they wld start firecrackers upon our arrival! so cool right! yah n then since it was such a festive occasion, we shd wear red! lols. almost everyone was decked out in red tt day! the sight's really comical! my dad's cousin sent us to my grandparents' old home. once we got off, my grandma was shipped off to meet lotsa old relatives. she was really like the vip of the day man! there were 2 other old women talking to my grandma the next time i saw her. the three of them standing tgt looked super cute! haha they looked almost identical in terms of their small stature n wrinkled faces. but my grandma's the most fashinable coz her hair's curled! we sorta came to a conclusion tt we wld curl our hair next time too, when we r really old, coz straight hair looks weird n u'll even have to pin the long straight hair properly whereas permed hair is juz curly. lol weird logic but yeah =) met lotsa pple we have nv seen before. some were the neighbours but of course we din noe. all of them spoke hainanese so sometimes it was kinda difficult to comprehend wad they were speaking but fortunately some know how to speak mandarin too. oh yeah then they started the first round of firecrackers! so cool! but it was v v v v v v v loud! had to cover our ears but it was really v interesting coz tt was the first time we actually saw real firecrackers being lighted. n for US! wow. went walking ard the area for awhile n my dad was introducing all the different parts of the house, like my grandparents' marital room, the bed tt is still there, the second storey of the house tt my grandfather sent money to build etc. n the well which is the source of water for the pple staying there now. had a short ride in the van again to this temple where we paid our respects to our ancestors. they lit firecrackers again! haha how cool is that! an uncle led us ard the area n introduced the farm ard the temple. there were huge areas of land for breeding fish, shrimps, growing crops etc. n some were related to our family too! us, the younger ones walked back frm the temple back to the house after everything was over. not a v long route actually. love the fresh air! it was so much better out in the farms than anywhere else coz almost all the guys r compulsive smokers! yucks. think my lungs became black coz of passive smoking everyday lah. k anw back to the topic. when we reached the house, the rest haven reached yet so the uncle led us to our great grandfather's tombstone. sure enough, they were there. paid our respects to him n then our family took a family photo with the tombstone! our family photo. lols. quite cool haha


it was quite tiring to walk actually so we took the transport back to the house. lazy us! lols had lunch after tt n they lit firecrackers for us again! hahas. went to another relative's house for awhile then we returned to the hotel.

the next day was a trip to my grandma's own home. met her younger sister-in-law n her younger sis. n lotsa other pple we cldnt recognise again haha but nvm. there were a lot more little kids there n they were super cute! oh n the place was so much cleaner! no wonder my grandma loves to keep her home super clean too! we did almost the same thing, visit the place, pay respects to our ancestors n then lunch. took lotsa photos too, esp of my grandma! she's super cute! hahahah cant stand it =) yups, went back to the hotel after tt too. been trying to go shopping for all the few days we were there but sadly not much things to buy

dad n mingyi left for guangzhou the nxt day after lunch, we spent one more night at wen chang, then left for home! it feels damn good to be home! :D

okay! shall update abt my china trip now! hahas. as i said, it was quite an eye-opener. u know, pple juz tend to have a stigma sometimes abt china, like how its not so advanced and all. esp the countryside areas. the toilets r still quite horrible hahas but in all, the atmosphere there is kinda different. a little more developed. of course i din expect a lot so yeah i guess i was more pleasantly surprised. haahs =)

anw! had a lift frm my dad's friend to the airport. checked-in n everything n finally got into the plane. shall not name the airline but its not sia. bleah. goodness the plane was quite horrible to say the least. no offense here but its true! the seats were super dirty. cld feel like a layer of dust on the seats or sth. n worse still, the air stewardesses gave us all black faces. n they din even bother to help when my aunt asked explicitly for help. WoW im amazed. luckily singapore has that gst campaign. yups anyhow reached guangzhou airport for transit to haikou. n since the first flight was delayed, we all had to rush to get on board the next plane to there. quite cool coz we got to sit on the buggy n zip through the hallways in the guangzhou airport! hahas made it there in time n the domestic flight left right on time. imagine our surprise when we all saw the domestic flight plane! so nice! so clean! so new! so unlike the previous one that looked torn. haha oops. ok enough of that. met up with my dad n sis in the hotel coz they took a separate flight n reached earlier. v tired n fell asleep after exploring the hotel room w my roommate(my cousin) n bathing.

packed off to xinglong after breakfast the next day. coz we were travelling with a tour grp, we went visiting some tourist attractions as usual. of course we took more photos of ourselves than of the attractions. haha oops. my cousin's really one photo-taking fanatic lah. keeps taking photos! hmmx yup anw actually we visited a lot of places in the few days but i cant rmb much. heh. doesnt matter though coz its not the main part of the trip :)

we visited the zoo, the botanical gardens n this cultural centre of some sort? yeah its basically this place where they showcase all the different cultures in different parts of the world. includes thailand, malaysia n there was a merlion! hahahha so cool! oh yah n towards the end of the first half of the trip, my cousin, my sis n i had a great shock. think its juz a culture shock. ahaha i dunno but in anycase, we were really stunned. coz our tourguide was telling us abt this place where u can juz soak urself in a pool that has little fish in it. the fish will sort of get attracted to u n bite off the dead skin cells off ur body. this is called "fish therapy" if i translate it literally. yups. but neither of us listened to her intently enough. n to make it worse, the bus ride was quite long so everyone was still half asleep when we reached that place. in our dazed form, our parents helped the three of us (only the THREE of us!) sign up for a session of being with the fish hahas. there r other pools as well but the main attraction was the one with the fish. having no choice, we went into the ladies' to change into our swimsuit. my gosh that was when all three of us were awoken! once we stepped in, the pple in charge gave us towels n told us to get changed inside. the sight was so scary! ok maybe not scary but different. coz the place was kinda filled with naked women. haha i shall not elaborate further yah. think anyone can get the idea. lols. being the conservative singaporeans, we took more than half an hour i think, juz to get changed! that wasnt the worst part. when we finally stepped out of the toilet to the area where all the pools were, we were told that the fish pool was in the centre. not knowing anything abt anything, we juz blindly followed directions n wad we saw was a huge pool filled with pple. since we thought at that time tt we cld only use that pool, we had no choice but to find a space enough for 3 pple. we were definitely not going to sit in the centre of the pool! n luckily we didnt! horror of horrors, the water was like filled with more of the fish shit than fish lah! yucks yucks yucks!! we left after awhile. ahahha cldnt stand it. felt quite dirty after tt but din dare to bathe there. ended up bathing in the hotel. it rocked! too bad we juz stayed there for one night :( the shower was so comfy! warm n nice =)

ok tt was one of the worst experiences we had. it was fascinating in its own sense but it still brings back some really funny memories tt still creep me up. heh.

oh yah n we went to this beach tt had rocks that had 'tian ya' n 'hai jiao' carved on them. took lotsa photos there. took a ferry to see this guanyin statue on the rocks quite far away on another island on another day too. the statue was so huge! oh n we went to another beach n took another ferry to look at corals. the pple there r v friendly! =)

kaes enough for now. quite a lot of interesting experiences we had in the first 4 days of the trip! shall continue some other time, on the trip back to my grandparents' hometown. =) tt was the best part of the trip! cya!

woohoo~! finally back in singapore! hahas feels so so good to be back! hmmx actually it was juz mainly a trip back to my grandparents' hometown so not much shopping done. sighs so sad right?! but i feel its really great to know and understand ur roots. n to know how life was like for ur grandparents at least. it was really very interesting to see my paternal grandparents' marital bed. yes, they still keep it there in the exact same room in the exact same location in the exact same house! even though my whole family has been living in singapore now for the past 50 plus years?! haha yeah tt's really long huh. oh yeah n to meet all our relatives still living in the farms in china. its so cool! of course there are relatives living in the sort of 'city' in that province. finally got to see the hotel my grandfather owns, n this shop nearby too. hahaha gosh the trip felt quite torturous coz of all the inconveniences but im really happy that my grandma has the chance to visit her hometown =) she was so happy! n so cute!

oh btw im not trying to boast or anything but there's this saying that hainanese guys r relatively more good-looking hahaha n i think its really true! even though they dun dress as fashionably as pple here but their features n all r really nice. hahas quite cool. even those little boys we see everywhere r really quite shuai! lols. actually one great example is my dad. hahaha oops so thick-skinned. kkaes shall blog more abt the whole trip some other time. juz got back! super tired. hahas nitez! =)

haha guess wad?! im bored! hahas. my gosh... how contradictory can i be?!

anw, went to register for basic theory test yesterday. met pricilla at the driving centre too! haha happy birthday girl! oops was kinda shocked to see her somehow so din say anything. ahahs goodness.. i juz waved n then she n her dad left.

somehow wasnt in a good mood yesterday. dunno y either. n it din help that my dad was in a bad mood too! hahas. ended up walking all the way from home to the amk library, then frm the library to popular at amk central. was perspiring by the time i reached the library(thank goodness for the aircon!) but the long walk somehow let me think of all the random stuff that was in my head. hahaha quite nice actually. luckily i was still clear-headed enough to take a bus back frm central though. cant imagine wad my feet wld be like when i reached home. oh after a while i walked to yck stadium again for a jog. been ages since i ran there! i juz love to sweat it out. haha but then think my stamina dropped a lot. arrgh. lazy lazy! getting fat again. ugh

juz finished reading Life Expectancy by dean koontz. hahas its really quite good! oh n A Painted House by john grisham. two books in a few days. my reading speed sucks too. my sis read the first book in one day while i took almost three or four. i dunno, lost count hahas. oh well.

oh btw will take some time to upload prom photos for now. been lazy to wait for imagestation lah, so anyone who wants prom pics taken frm my cam juz ask frm me online k! will send thru msn instead. quite a lot of pics so might take ard 15 to 20 mins? hahas might be more though. yup!

jw-! hahahs yeah i get wad u meant. hahas juz gotta learn to accept i guess. somehow =) oh n mich is starting to blog again. i think.

yays prom is over! hahas. finally! all the shopping n searching for places to do our hair n make-up! my gosh... i've never thought it wld be that tiring. haha but it was really fun taking photos with so many pple in one night! the camera was juz clicking non-stop. din even have much time to review the photos to see if we look ok n my cam batt was exhausted alr. WoW. 133 photos in just a few hours. more than 133 in fact. got lazy towards the end n juz decided to get photos frm others. so please send prom photos to me too! hahahas. shall go ask ard soon.. anw honestly the programme wasnt v interesting n the food wasnt great. but the company was nice =) haha in any case i think no one wld have been too bothered abt the details coz we were juz busy taking photo after photo n just running ard looking for pple we wanna take pics with.

jw, rj n i met first to do our hair n make-up at the saloon near my house. rx n mich came later. putting on make-up took longer coz there was only one beautician n she was really slow!! oops.. haha then while waiting for the 2 later ones to finish their make-up, we went to my home thanks to my mum who came to fetch us. rotted there till they were done n then dad sent all 5 of us to swissotel! haha i think my parents rock =) yayy hahas yups, met the rest of the class in the hotel room. all the girls looked so pretty! photo-taking frenzy began there. so fun!

when it was time to leave for the ballroom, mich, kairu n i had a rather tough time. hahas. oh well but it was for a good purpose. glad the class liked or at least seemed to like the gift we prepared for them. some even obeyed us n wore the "I love 04S13" placard for a long period of time! yays! hahas so cute. the poor councillors had a tough time trying to get everyone into the ballroom coz we were all too caught up in our photo-taking! heh oops.. it was like a deja vu kinda thing coz it happens every year. the prog finally started ard one hour late? heh. the host was quite funny actually. he was really v thick-skinned n i think he succeeded in entertaining us. arrgh but somehow i kinda missed last yr's council production. haha maybe its juz coz i was involved in it. u tend to be more attached to things u're involved in right. hmmx cant really rmb much other than yeah, the main thing we were doing. hahas. oh well. joyce n i were sitting next to each other n i think it was a mistake coz we both ate so slowly! in the end we din eat much the whole night :p

part 2 of our class proj took a long long time to begin coz the 37th council was busy trying to take a council photo. lol. i doubt everyone was in there though... oh wells. haha but it was quite cool. we sang a bday song to mr wong even though it wasnt his bday! hahas i juz love the spontaneity of the councillors =) yep took cia n aerius photos after that. not v complete but no choice. we shouted for cia n aerius till i almost lost my voice. carried that hoarse voice with me the whole night. haha glad the class liked the ppt too! *sigh* im so glad mich n kairu were so determined in doing that ppt thing! hahas. love u two!! =)

oh yeah the class had half the mind to go to club home for the nj post prom party but we din. juz as well, we had a great bonding time on a bridge overnight even though everyone was tired. hahas. n yanwen was almost getting high! hahaha so cute!

walked back to the hotel at ard 5 plus in the morning? cant really rmb the time. but it was definitely on friday morning. halfway through it started raining. oh wells. went back to the hotel n the sleepy ones juz slept after we removed our make-up.

had a most eventful day/night with the class. sometimes i really wonder wad life in nj wld be like if i wasnt in S13, if i din choose the S5 combi in the first place. haha i cant believe it. things wld have been so so different. n im so glad i decided to run for council even though i had my doubts abt even getting in! life in nj wld have been really different too. all the friendships made, bonds formed... they're juz really indescribable really. hahas n who said nj's a boring place?! if u have the right attitude n opened ur mind to new things, the stereotype abt nj just doesnt hold, no matter wad pple say. seriously.
